IP Address Xbox360 live help?
I received an Xbox360 as a gift as well as Xbox live. I also bought a 5-port hub to share the internet connection with my PC as well as my Xbox through a hard wire connection. I know the PC and the Xbox are supposed to be able to share the connection but I can only be on the internet on the PC, OR Xbox live at a time, NOT at the same time. The PC gives me messages saying both the computer as well as the Xbox have the same IP address. How can I change the Xbox or the PC IP address so they can share the internet connection?
Its a lot easier to change the Xbox's settings. First you go to System Settings on the dashboard, then Network Settings. You should see either "Automatic" or "Manual." If it is Manual, change it to Automatic.
If it is Automatic, change it to manual. Now, Change ONLY THE LAST NUMBER of your IP address to one that isn't already on your PC. If you get the error again, just keep changing the IP until you get a number that's not being used.
