what is the difference between an HDMI cable and an HDMI AV cable?
I am looking at these 2 cables. The prices are quite different, one being $12.99 and the other $29.99.
I'm not wanting reviews of Dynex or anything, but I am just wondering what is the difference between the two. The cheaper one is a Dynex Direct 6 ft. HDMI cable. The other is Dynex 6 ft HDMI AV cable.
I am using it to connect my HD tv to our XBox 360, Wii or dvd player.
An HDMI cable *is* an A/V cable. You're probably just looking at two different ads, and one calls it an HDMI A/V cable, while the other just calls it an HDMI cable.
The key you're looking for is HDMI 1.3 or higher. That will give you your full 1080p with digital audio. You also shouldn't spend more than $10 on an HDMI cable (delivered). I got a 6-foot HDMI cable on eBay a year or so ago for $5 delivered. And, it has worked flawlessly since I hooked it up.
