Can i put my old hard drive on my new xbox 360 core?
I have a xbox 360 premium, but the console is broke. If i get the core version, can i use the premium hard drive on the core console?
yes you definitely can. The only issue would be if you purchased anything off of Xbox live marketplace. The purchase ties the download to your system and gamertag.
As long as you are connected to Xbox live, you can still use the downloaded content as it proves you are the purchaser. Other accounts will not be able to use the downloads when you are not logged in and online. This is only a concern if you have multiple accounts on your 360 for different people.
In my case, my kids couldn't play arcade games or watch the cartoons I downloaded for them when logged onto their own accounts. It only ran under my log in, and for them the games showed as 'trial version'.
