Xbox 360 Headset Skullcandy. Should I buy?

I'm planning on buying the Xbox 360 Lowrider headset made by Skullcandy. It's $50 and I think it looks awesome and what it does sounds awesome but I've been getting mixed reviews online about it. Some say the microphone is good, some say no one can hear you. Others say the audio is good, others say it's not that great. I'm mainly wanting it to hear my friends and to talk to them. But I also plan on trying out the game sounds as well. So should I buy this or not? That is my question.

Dont buy it. I just got it a few days ago and there's a few major problems:

You can barely hear the in-game chat even when you minimize game sound and maximize the microphone sound in xbox preferences and game options.

I bought it because I wanted to have latenight headphones that could chat and carry the game sound. Nope not this one. The mic is extremely low and you cannot hear the chat. There is a mic setting in your preferences where you can play the chat through the headset (does NOT work on skullcandy lowrider) and when you opt to play chat through the speakers, the sound is barely audible.

Ive spent the last 2 days splicing the wires from my old xbox headset to the lowrider. Additionally I had to add a preamplifier in order to balance the sound. Alot of grief and not worth the pricetag.

Pros: None

Cons:
- Cheap plastic construction. This is not ABS plastic but rather the cheap brittle type that shatters on impact.
- No mute button
- Game chat is horrible as described above.
- uncomfortable to wear for longer than 2 hours.
- You cannot digitally connect game sound, it uses modified RCA analog female connectors.

This has to be one of the worst gaming products on the market.
