The Microsoft XBOX 360 is one of the best consoles ever made with a great collection of games. But it is also a victim to constant problems related to its weak hardware design.
Any of you who own an XBOX 360 console could have come across the deadly RROD (Red Ring of death) where three of the lights around the button flash red and you cant play anything on the console! This is one of THE most irritating things and cannot be fixed without technical assistance from Microsoft. Well till NOW at least. Thanks to the help of one of the technicians at Microsoft we have been able to put together this set of guides AND step by step videos on how to repair your XBOX 360 console. These videos are VERY simple and can easily be downloaded and watched and can be executed by ANYONE as it requires absolutely no technical knowledge and is very safe.

Lets look at why the XBOX 360 fails and how to fix it
The Problem :
It is estimated that about 50% of the consoles sold suffer from this problem. Click the image to the right to get a pictorial view of the codes for the lights.
1) Three flashing red lights around the Xbox 360 power button (nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death" or "Red Lights of Death") means an internal hardware problem that requires service.Warning signs leading to this error may include freeze-ups, graphical problems in the middle of game-play, and audio errors, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off.
This error is generally caused by failure of a hardware component
2) Distinct from the General Hardware Failure is a similar-looking error where 4 red lights appear, which happens when there is a problem with your AV cable. This can easily be fixed by inserting the cable properly.
3)Two red lights appear when the system is overheated .This can happen after LONG hours of gaming and is easily fixed by playing the game after a while.
Generally the RROD means that you have to call Microsoft technical service and the repairs cost about 150$ including all the shipping and service costs. This is way too much for something that can be fixed at home easily in under an hour. Here is how you can fix your XBOX 360 at home!
The Solution :
The solution is really simple.
All you need is a Philips screwdriver which is something you get at any convenience store.
Just DOWNLOAD these videos and manual and play them in a video player. They are recorded by a Microsoft technical service personnel and are easy to follow. Follow the sequence of instructions and your XBOX 360 will be up and working in under an hour!
