Pearl Harbor Tours Are Rich With More Than History

Some of the most popular attractions in Hawaii by far are Pearl Harbor tours.  Many people might believe that these tours are more for those interested in history or naval combat, but there are several other reasons to visit Pearl Harbor.

Pearl Harbor is definitely a sight to behold.  What occurred in this place almost 70 years ago without a doubt changed the course of human history forever. It also changed the way the world's militaries viewed defense.

A step into the history that changed the world.

The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor without a Declaration of War and without warning.  Had it not been for the drive and determination of the American people in the months after the surprise attack, the Japanese would have succeeded in keeping the U.S. out of World War II altogether.

Once visitors see just how extensive the destruction was when the attack ended, it might be hard to believe that U.S. Naval forces were able to come back and defeat Japan.  The loss of so many sailors and naval vessels was a hard blow for U.S. forces to recover from, but luckily the U.S. had the necessary resources and manpower to rebuild.     

As with wars even today, it all comes down to resources.  Had the Japanese been able to secure the oil resources they needed in the months after Pearl Harbor while hampering the U.S. attempts to meet their own resource needs, the world would be a different place today.

All of the Pearl Harbor tours available will take visitors on a trip though history, where they can see what it was like at the beginning of World War II and how are today.  The U.S. Navy still use the harbor for military vessels and in many cases you can catch a glimpse of the ships returning from other parts of the world.  Though Pearl Harbor is a main attraction for many visitors, there are many other activities to do while taking Pearl Harbor tours.

Some Pearl Harbor tours offer more than just navel vessels.

Some Pearl Harbor tours may take visitors out to snorkel, while others might take them to large pineapple fields.  No matter what you are looking for while visiting Oahu, you can really see a lot while on one of these tours.  In fact, there may not be a better way to see Oahu than through one of the many Pearl Harbor tours.
