Finding Oil Driller Jobs Offshore
People are often amazed at the choices available for oil rig jobs offshore. Ranging from very technical to general labor, oil rig jobs cover a broad range of specialties. You will have no trouble finding an oil rig job performing almost anything you care to work at.
Examples of oil rig jobs include sub-sea technicians, responsible for keeping the offshore platform stable, the offshore crane operator and his riggers, and workings from many other areas of expertise, all working together so that the oil can be found, pumped and sold with as little damage to the environment as possible.
The department actually engaged in finding and producing the oil are the drilling team, the geologists and the petroleum engineers - it is there job to find the oil, drill it, and pump it up from the sea floor. Using their expertise and training, this team will find the best approach to accessing the oil, pumping it to waiting tankers, and then ship it to the waiting processors using tanker ships or pipelines.
Once the oil gets to shore, the pipeline workers, from engineers to laborers, are responsible for seeing the oil properly distributed to the refineries. Since most of our oil is moved from place to place now via the pipelines, employees who work the pipes are both well paid and secure in their positions.
