Common Wii Fit Problems
<!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } A:link { so-language: zxx } --> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } -->
Common Wii Fit problems can take many forms. Some of these forms are easier to fix than other ones. The problem could be with the balance board, the Wiimote (the controller for the Wii), or even the system itself. Thinking analytically about the problem will help you figure out where you should look and how to fix the problem.
The single most common Wii Fit problem is syncing. Three things have to be synced in order for everything to work correctly. First, the Wiimote has to be synced to the system. Second, the balance board has to be synced to the system. Lastly, the system has to be synced with both the Wiimote and the balance board.
When it comes down to syncing problems, just say "forget it" and re-sync everything. This is easy to do:
1)Turn the system off and then back on.
2)When the health and safety screen comes up, press the red "sync" button for 15 seconds.
3)This will delete all of the sync data, now all you have to do is re-sync like normal.
Another very common problem is the balance board. Believe it or not, usually you can fix it by making sure of two things. First, make sure you are on a hard surface. If you are on carpet, the balance board wont take accurate readings. Along with this, make sure it is pointing the correct direction (the light should be behind you, not toward the TV). Second, make sure the batteries are good. Discharged batteries will affect performance. It could make it not read your movements and not take accurate readings of your weight.
The Wiimote has just as many problems as anything else. Like the balance board, these are usually very easy to fix and usually can be traced back to two main things. First, make sure it is synced. If syncing is a problem, delete everything and re-sync it as I said above. Hopefully this is all it will need. The second thing to look for is, yet again, good batteries. Bad batteries in the Wiimote will make it not work properly. It may jump around the screen, it may not notice when you press a button, and it may not track your movements. Either way, make sure both of these are not the problem.
If worse comes to worse, it may be time to invest in a good "Wii Fix" guide. A good guide will cover everything about how to fix your Wii yourself, including common Wii fit problems. You might also be able to find some good online resources about fixing common Wii fit problems. Remember, sending it back to have it fixed or buying a new one should always be a last resort. Keep in mind though, I'm not telling you to rip it open and re-solder everything, I'm simply saying to try and fix it yourself. It will make you look like a genius in front of your family
