Pokemon games is the most sought after games in the world. The question is where you can download them safely. This article will tell you about the top Pokemon Ds games available and where you can get them. Remember you can play DS games on your Dsi console
Pokemon Diamond Version
Much to the delight of Pokémaniacs the world over, Nintendo and Game Freak have finally brought a proper Pokémon game to the Nintendo DS with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and it delivers much of what a fan would desire—a richer, more detailed presentation, the ability to battle and trade Pokémon over the Internet, and of course, more than 100 brand-new Pokémon to collect. Like any of the core Pokémon games released since the original Red and Blue hit in 1999, Diamond and Pearl offer some nice upgrades, but if you didn't like Pokémon then, you probably won't care for it now. That said, it's a little surprising how well the formula holds up in Diamond and Pearl, which is a testament to the strong fundamentals of the series as well as the quality of the execution.
The core Pokémon games have never looked better.
Sticking to the script, Diamond and Pearl start out the same as any other Pokémon game, and though the specifics are different, the story plays out in a familiar fashion. Playing as either a young boy or girl living in the out-of-the-way hamlet of Twinleaf Town in the Sinnoh region, you and your highly competitive best friend are sent into the world by Professor Rowan to collect as much data on the Pokémon that inhabit the region as is possible, which you do by capturing and fighting. During your travels, you will battle plenty of wild Pokémon and other Pokémon trainers like yourself, as well as face off with the leaders of eight different Pokémon gyms spread across Sinnoh. And, in the tradition of the nefarious Team Rocket, Diamond and Pearl introduce the shadowy and oddly self-righteous Team Galactic, a new Pokémon-obsessed organization for you to square off with. The plot doesn't tread much new ground for the series, and it generally keeps things real light and breezy. They won't dazzle you with the complexity or originality of their storytelling, but Diamond and Pearl are still packed with lots of sharp writing. There are hundreds of people for you to meet, and though they don't always offer lengthy conversations, they all have something to say.
Pokemon Platinum Version
Two things are certain in the crazy world of Pokemon: Somehow these adorable creatures trigger an undeniable urge to collect 'em all, and every new generation of games ultimately spawns a special edition with additional features. Usually these new editions rely on cheesy gimmicks, but Pokemon Platinum's gameplay is much more refined than that of its predecessors, Diamond and Pearl. The focus is still on classic, addictive battling, but Platinum also incorporates several new areas and an impressive array of subtle changes, making it the best of the bunch despite heavily recycled content.
Platinum maintains the franchise's traditional elements, including a cozy (if banal and predictable) backstory with some slight adjustments. You select your character's gender, receive your first Pokemon from the local Professor Rowan, and embark on your own adventure--exploring the land of Sinnoh's vivid countryside and meddling in the affairs of the laughable Team Galactic. Two new characters extend the returning plot, providing interesting details about the new areas and Pokemon forms, but they add little overall.
The majority of the gameplay follows the series' tried-and-true formula for a pleasantly nostalgic journey. You travel with a team of six Pokemon and engage other trainers and wild Pokemon in simple, turn-based battles. Each creature has four moves based on elemental types, such as fire and water, and the goal is to capitalize on your opponent's elemental weakness. These ability types form the basis of a rock-paper-scissors mechanic that encourages you to catch a variety of Pokemon to tackle any opponent, providing the foundation of the game's highly addictive nature. Capturing Pokemon adds them to your collection and expands your Pokedex's Pokemon data, which now boasts almost 60 new creatures, though you're still spending most of your time battling the same old Pokemon.
Pokemon HeartGold Version
It's absurd how many variations of the Pokemon role-playing games have been released since the series first hit the US in 1998. Most entries are launched in pairs with only minor differences between the two--typically in the form of unique Pokemon that must be traded between versions--and they're eventually followed up by a slightly slicker remake a few years later. What's even more ridiculous is how little these games have changed from one generation to the next, yet Poke-addicts still flock to their local gaming shops to pick up the latest version on an almost annual basis. This speaks volumes about the strength of the original concept and gameplay, but you'd think fans would reach their breaking point sooner or later. As a preventive measure, Nintendo and Game Freak have rolled out a secret weapon for their latest venture. Even though Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are remakes of their 10-year-old Game Boy Color counterparts, they're the first entries in the series to actually make you want to exercise, thanks to the ingenious Pokewalker accessory that comes bundled with them. Yes, the prospect of getting up off your duff and walking around the neighborhood becomes a lot more enticing when you can level up your favorite Pokemon in the process. That's the real hook here, and it's a sharp one
Taking place in the Johto region, the story in HeartGold and SoulSilver is one that has been echoed throughout most of the series. You are a young lad (or girl, if you choose), summoned to the lab of the local Pokemon professor who asks you to help out with his research and lets you pick one of several critters to accompany you on your travels. Then it's off into the world you go, lending a hand for the greater good of all Pokemon while also working to become the top trainer around. Johto's numerous nooks and crannies provide refuge to hundreds of different species of Pokemon. Tracking down and catching all the rarest species, training them so they grow more powerful, and using them in turn-based, RPG-style battles to defeat other rivals you encounter along the way has always been the cornerstone of the Pokemon series. It was an addictive and enjoyable concept back when it first appeared, and it's just as absorbing 12 years later.
