Are Video Games Bad For Kids?
Im writing a essay on that topic. Whats your opinon and why?
I think that parents need to control more, and not just blame video games. I dont think that video games are bad for children. But, a 10 year old shouldnt be playing a Mature games. I have seen personaly parents BUY theses games for their children.
Gimme You Opinon
I was thinking about asking this the other day. I think a lot of games are actually good for kids. I grew up playing video games and I'm not a "socially retarded" or anything. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA from the University of Florida last year. I actually think playing the games helped me a lot. Playing some strategy games taught me to think outside the box and go about problems from different angles. I always liked the "Legend of Zelda" games as a kid. There were a lot of puzzles to try to solve. There was some swordplay and weapons use, but that wasn't so much the structure of the game. The game was more about how to think and solve the puzzles to beat castles and what-not.
Games like Halo are better for young-adults. We had a lot of Halo nights in college drinking and trash-talking. Kids really shouldn't be exposed to very violent games and it's the parents' jobs to make sure of that, or atleast explain to kids that it isn't real and make sure kids see the consequences of killing in real life. I grew up on Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong. I guess the times are different now. Damn, I'm getting old...
