Can you really get chosen to play video games for money over xbox live?
my friend was just telling me that one of his friends who plays call of duty all the time just got selected to get paid by a person who either works for activision or microsoft (my friend wasnt sure). he said this person entered the xbox live party and told him all of the details and asked him for his phone number and other personal info and asked him if he wanted to e-sign the contract. apparently this dude now gets paid certain amounts for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, and gets paid nothing for 4th or below. he also told me that if this dudes k/d ratio dropped below 1.50 that they would contact him and tell him to either raise it up soon or contract terminated. IS THIS TRUE? or is my friend simply pulling my leg and getting my hopes up?
Well allen is correct but I can say he may be pulling your leg on this one. There are many people who get into competitive gaming and think "hey, why not tell people I have a contract because I game competitively" usually they go around telling people they go to tournaments and are sponsored by MLG. Sad to say but MLG only hands out contracts to the top 4 team, which consists of 16 players. Even then you can still make money as long as you place somewhere between 1st and 8th. I highly doubt anyone would terminate a contract based on how low your kill/death ratio is, if you are a good enough player to get noticed by a company for you to obtain a contract, they wouldn't just let you go like that because they see you as an asset in obtaining more publicity through video games and would possible provide more profit for them
