Video Games Notable for Speedrunning $160.91 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. The word video in video game traditionally referred to a raster display device. However, with the popular use of the term video game, it now implies any type of display device. The electronic systems used to play video games are known as platforms; examples of these are personal computers and video game consoles. These platforms range from large mainframe computers to small handheld devices. Specialized video games such as arcade games, while previously common, have gradually declined in use. Artificial Intelligence (Video Games) $73.28 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Game artificial intelligence refers to techniques used in computer and video games to produce the illusion of intelligence in the behavior of nonplayer characters (NPCs). The techniques used typically draw upon existing methods from the field of artificial intelligence (AI). However, the term game AI is often used to refer to a broad set of algorithms that also include techniques from control theory, robotics, computer graphics and computer science in general. Since game AI is centered on appearance of intelligence and good gameplay, its approach is very different from that of traditional AI; hacks and cheats are acceptable and, in many cases, the computer abilities must be toned down to give human players a sense of fairness. This, for example, is true in firstperson shooter games, where NPCs otherwise perfect aiming would be beyond human skill. Password (Video Games) $76.47 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. n many video games of the 8 and 16bit eras, after a level was beaten and/or when all continues were used, the game would display a password, that when entered in the game would allow the player to return back to this part in the game. This way, nothing needed to be written on the cartridge, as the password itself contained all the information needed to continue the game. The password was used in cartridge based systems generally to lower costs, since the memory card was built in to the cartridge, often doubling the manufacturing cost. Passwords helped to keep production costs down on low volume titles by smaller thirdparty developers. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. do YOU like, love, or hate game-stop?
Okay guys, here it goes.. I won't include my own opinion here, because I'm actually just curious of everyone else opinion of the much known video game retailer "Game-Stop"
I need your opinions on:
- The customer service you receive at gamestop.
- The trade in value you receive when you bring in your games.
- The prices of their used games.
Please don't give your opinion if you:
1) Have never been to gamestop
2) Have never been to any other video game store (meaning all you know and are comfortable with is gamestop)
3) Have never traded in games with gamestop
4) Don't buy used games
Thanks!
Gamestop sucks. I do my best to avoid shopping there by all means necessary. If I can find my game in another store, then that's where I'll go.
1) Customer service. Depends, usually they don't bother me, but it's really annoying when they pester me to reserve games. But I usually let them slide (unless they're total dipshits) because I know that working for gamestop is horrible.
2) Trade in values. Absolute garbage. These "values" are a total insult to anyone who trades their games in. If you trade your game in, you are willingly accepting the fact that gamestop is ripping you off.
3) Used game prices. Also a complete insult. You trade in a game that's barely a few days old and you'll be lucky to get close to 20% of the original price, as soon as you give your game back to them, they'll immediately put it on sale for 98% of the price of a new game. It's ridiculous how expensive they hock these games off for.
You can ALWAYS find better deals online, and you can ALWAYS get better prices for your used games by selling online. Don't do business with Gamestop, ever. Watch the below video as to why you shouldn't.
