Two Worlds (Xbox 360) $12.99 Two Worlds is a fantasy RPG which uses both first and third person views. You create and play your own customisable character. He/she must eat, drink and sleep like a real person or suffer the consequences. For example, if you don't sleep, your character's fighting and spell-casting abilities become severely ineffective. If you don't eat, you slowly lose H.P, and the longer you go without eating, the faster you lose H.P. More than in any other game before it, Two Worlds allows you to find your own path through the world and beat challenges, quests and puzzles in any order. The actions you take can cause cities to be sacked, kings to be overthrown, and people to be executed. Using a bespoke graphics engine, Two Worlds tells the tale of an epic clash between Orcs and Humans that steadily unfolds to provide an over-arching story. Players embarking on the grand quest will find a dynamic world that adjusts to their actions, complemented by a career system that allows incredible freedom in character development. A plethora of side quests accompany the main story and there's a staggeringly large array of items and equipment to collect. |

Too Human (Xbox 360) $4.99 Too Human is the 2008 offering from Silicon Knights, the developer behind Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. It twins Norse mythology with cyberpunk in an epic tale of discovery. Players take on the role of Baldur, one of the Aesir, who has taken it upon himself to protect and aid humanity in an ongoing war against the machines. So it is that you embark on an action RPG quest to fight the bad stuff and rescue humanity. Silicon Knights has come up with an innovative new control scheme that uses the right analogue stick for controlling your character's direction and, rather than using the left one for camera control, uses it for deploying weapons, much as you would expect for the likes of Geometry Wars. Too Human is bound to tickle the fancy of loot collectors - there's tons of the stuff, scattered everywhere you look. Similarly, there are oodles of customisation options to get your guy looking and playing just the way you want. Also on offer is online two-player co-op. Even Gods get lonely, you know. It just goes to show that sometimes they're all Too Human. Step into the world of Too Human, the next-generation third-person epic action game from renowned Canadian developer Silicon Knights. As the cybernetic god Baldur, you are thrust into the midst of an ongoing battle that threatens the existence of mankind. An ancient machine presence has forced the god's hand. In the first part of a trilogy, Baldur is charged with defending humanity from an onslaught of monstrous war machines bent on the eradication of human life.In Too Human, players are treated to a nonstop barrage of action powered by the seamless integration of melee and ranged firearms combat and fueled by breathtaking visuals enabled by the powerful combination of Xbox 360 and the Unreal Engine 3. Battles unfold in awesome scale as players engage with vast numbers of enemies. Gamers take it to the next level by playing the entire single-player campaign in multiplayer co-op mode via Xbox LIVE or system link. |

Kinect Sports: Season Two (Xbox 360) $34.99 Following the success of the original, Kinect Sports returns for a second season with a bunch of all-new events taking full advantage of the 360's motion controller. With six sports on offer, players will get the chance to try out American Football, Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Darts and Skiing in the comfort of their living rooms. The addition of a brand new Challenge Play mode brings everyone together through Xbox Live allowing players to leave challenges for people at home or friends online. Players mimic the real-life counterparts of the six included sports even though they don't have the equipment to use. Golf sees you swing your arms as if you're holding a club, Baseball has players swinging their virtual bat and Darts is just as if you were down the pub. With multiplayer action aplenty, it may not be the most authentic representation of sports but the one thing that Season Two strives to do is provide fun. Playing Season Two is even easier with the introduction of in-game voice control to race through menus and switch their on-screen equipment. There's also the new In and Out facility lets players quit out to catch their breath without having to stop the fun for everyone else. One of the best party games on the Kinect has just got better. |

Chromehounds (Xbox 360) $9.99 It is the near future, and unlike summer 2006's North Korean fireworks display, things worldwide are getting scary. The trauma of living in a world of self-empowered willy-wavers has resulted in a plethora of Dick-slash-Heinlein-esque killing machines, striding across wartorn terrain, generally having a blast. Luckily, this Dystopia is not real. It is not the future, it's just From Software and SEGA's Chromehounds making its entry to the 360 fold. This Mech-a-licious squad-based action title puts players in control of giant mechanized dogs (hounds, see?) of war. There is a single-player option in Chromehounds, but the game is optimised for the multiplayer experience. Solo mode helps you hone your fighting style and brush up on your combat tactics before stepping out into the warzone in either competitive or cooperative gameplay in squads of Hounds. Different positions within squads are available: you can become just 'one of the boys' or you can take control as Tactics Commander and transform your team into the ultimate Mech destruction squad. So strap on the headset that comes bundled with your 360 and bark (ha!) your orders at your fellow hounds. World domination is the prize for the most powerful army in the field - North Koreans need not apply. Full customisation options invite players to equip and personalise their hounds in thousands of different ways. We are assured that no two hounds can turn out the same. It's the ultimate Pimp My Mech experience, if you must. |

Perfect Dark Zero (Xbox 360) $9.99 Sequels are big business in the games industry. Once a studio hits on a successful idea, there’s often a lot of pressure from publishers to continue the winning formula. And while some people like to bring out a sequel every year, others spend an age getting just one ready. Rare have spent five and a half years on the sequel to Perfect Dark on the N64. Itself a spiritual sequel to the dearly beloved Goldeneye, Perfect Dark won the hearts of hardened 'Goldenistas' with hugely customisable multiplayer modes and a fun story mode that even supported two player co-operative play. Since then, a sequel has been slated for GameCube; then - following the Microsoft buy-out - for Xbox. With the perfectionists at Rare unable to keep their hands off it, it slipped again to Xbox 360. But perhaps this is a blessing, and Perfect Dark Zero standing proudly shoulder to shoulder with its comrades in the Xbox 360 launch line-up is a stirring sight. The story once again concerns itself with the adventures of svelte lovely Joanna Dark. As is increasingly common in this genre, the game is in fact a prequel to the well-loved original Perfect Dark and tells the story of how she entered the employ of the Carrington Institute as a trusted member of their corporate espionage division. Three years before the events depicted on N64, Joanna embarks on a mission for the first time with her bounty hunter ex-cop father. What follows are 13 episodes that show how Joanna cut her teeth during a particularly fierce flare-up between eternal enemies the Carrington Institute and dataDyne Corp. Get that catsuit nimble feeling of girlyness as you roll and skip round each stage, toting a satisfying array of chunky weaponry. Detractors of the first Perfect Dark said that the graphics were too ambitious - sometimes appearing a muddy mess. That’s not a criticism that the Xbox 360 version is going to face. PDZ already looks like something from the year 2020, ferchrissakes - handy, seeing as that's the setting for the game. With a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound facility and a big TV, the big guns look and sound...well, bigger than ever. The Limited Edition comes with a comic book, slipcase and bonus DVD - well worth the extra five brick. |

From Castle Wolfenstein to Doom, Quake and beyond, id has been at the forefront of crafting some of the most iconically grim environments. In Rage, selected human beings have been buried deep underneath the Earth's surface in life-sustaining pods, in order to survive planet-wide extinction from an incoming asteroid. DiRT 3 (Xbox 360) $17.99 Codemasters’ brings the third iteration of its gritty and initially rally-centred driving game to the market with two notable additions: YouTube and mad-skilled American car-stunt star, Ken Block. Ken adds some spice to the on- and off-road circuit, open track and head-to-head racing with his ‘Gymkhana’ mode. This has less to do with racing than it does with tricking in order to please the crowd and gain points. Tricks that the gamer and their car of choice have to complete include getting heaps of air via hair-raising jumps, performing tyre shredding ‘donuts’ and ‘spins’ as well as drifting around corners and beneath huge trucks. Of course, building on the heritage of the Colin McRae Rally series that set the rallying standard for videogames, that form of co-partnered fast but intensely skilled driving also features heavily in the career mode. A wide variety of venues from Aspen’s snow to Kenya’s dusty heat are included. Also included is Rally-Cross, in which the gaming driver must face several surfaces in a circuit-based set of races. All of this is achieved in a variety of in-car and out-of-car viewpoints in both single-player and multiplayer modes. The latter includes local split-screen, LAN and online competitive play. A vast roster of vehicles, including Ken Block’s DC Shoes Ford Fiesta and the official cars featured in the World Rally Championship are available. In short, the gamer can play nine Pure Rally classes with six non-rally classes: Rally: WRC, Open rally (Rally America), Super rally 2000, Group B(4WD), Raid, 60s rally, 70s rally, 80s rear wheel drive and 90s. Non Rally: Rallycross, Modern Trailblazer, Classic Trailblazer, Landrush trucks, Landrush Buggies and Gymkhana. |

Battlestations: Pacific (Xbox 360) $12.99 Battlestations: Pacific picks up where Battlestations: Midway left off and runs like hell. Playing as the US forces, players command and participate in some of the key battles of the Pacific campaign, lining up their troops to ensure victory for the Allies. Battlestations: Pacific adds something new to the mix, however. For the first time, players can command Japanese forces in a 'what if' campaign that assumes Japan actually won the Battle of Midway. Players are able to control their land, sea and air units from afar, remotely plotting the course to victory. They're also able to jump right into the fray, climbing into the cockpit of a plane or taking up the role of captain of an individual ship. It's a pretty massive affair, with a total of 28 full-scale battles. The US campaign includes Guadalcanal, Leyte, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and more, while the Japanese side of things enables gamers to start at Pearl Harbor, go to the Java Sea, Port Moresby, Midway, and beyond. New to the series is island capture, in which players can storm individual islands to take them as strategic vantage points. Multiplayer returns, with eight players able to engage in battles of up to 100 units. There are five new modes, including Island capture, Duel, Siege, Escort, and Competitive. Added to that is Skirmish mode, which enables players to team up against the AI to test their co-operative skills. The fate of the Pacific is in your hands! Experience one war through two epic sagas where you will be a part of history or change it. Feel the power of the historically authentic and decisive battles of the Pacific War. Relive some of the grandest and most critical naval battles of recent history and for the first time, choose to lead your fleet to a completely different ending to the war. You will need intelligence and expertise to plan your moves and constantly remain one step ahead of the enemy. With both strategy and action at your command truly anticipate your opponent’s every move and turn the tide of war. |

Rogue Warrior (Xbox 360) $9.99 Infiltration, guns, lots of swearing and the hardest man you're ever likely to come across. Rogue Warrior is described by publisher Bethesda as a "personality-driven shooter" - what Hollywood used to called a "star vehicle". It features former real-life Navy SEAL Richard 'Demo Dick' Marcinko, voiced by Mickey Rourke, getting up to the kind of sneaky, blacker than black ops its real life star is famous for. The game is set in the 1980s, when Marcinko was still a relative youngster, and focuses on a fictional campaign in which Demo Dick is trying to stop anti-ballistic missiles passing from North Korea to Russia. As the game progresses, things go awry and, having been told to stand down for reasons that are unclear, Dick goes rogue. In any given mission, you're likely to find two stages of play. First up is stealth. You have an armload of different stealthy kill moves to make use of as you sneak your way through a scenario. The environment also comes into play. Shooting out a light is an easy way to disorient an enemy before delivering a kill. An even better way to do it is take out a fuse box and plunge the entire building (a warehouse, in this case) into darkness, switching to night vision as you do it. The opposing soldiers, however, might well have a vague idea of what's going on. In pretty much all of the missions, expect things go south. As Dick is wont to say – no plan survives contact with the enemy. That brings you to the second stage of play; combat. Dick is left to shoot his way out of the various missions, with battles getting pretty frenetic as the obligatory oil drums go "boom!" The game naturally features online multiplayer – a staple feature of any shooter these days. Get ready to fight some terrorists Demo Dick style! |

MotoGP 09/10 (Xbox 360) $12.99 It's time for fans of two-wheeled racing to dust off their virtual leathers – MotoGP 09/10 is here with not one but two seasons for us to race through. Yes, that's two seasons. The game comes with all the '09 season content (tracks, bikes, riders, teams) in the box. The 2010 goodies will be along as DLC, which is good news for racing fans as it means we'll also be getting the new Moto2 bikes – the 600cc class. That also means it will come with the new Silverstone track. And there's more! That also means the new Balaton track out in Hungary, which will feature later on in the season, will be up for grabs. Plenty of new goodies for bike fans to get to grips with. Championship mode is the meat of the game - a recreation of the MotoGP 09/10 season. As you dive in, you can pick your favourite rider and bike from any of the classes (125cc, 250cc, MotoGP – 800cc). With the 250ccs you have to take a bit more care on your throttle control or the back end is likely to slide out a bit more. Further up the scale, the 800cc bike is all about taking great care on the throttle control. The bike can slide out a lot more easily and you really have to pay attention to the state of your tyres. If you're not getting the picture – developer Monumental Games has put a lot of work into the way different classes of bike handle. This year also marks the introduction of the racing line for... we'll say 'less seasoned riders'. That comes from the developers racing the track over and over again, generating the best lap line. If, however, you outdo the dev team, the line will update to your fastest line. That can be uploaded to the network and then downloaded by your friends, so you can show them all how to be the speediest of racers. Career mode is for the more thoughtful racer. In a nutshell it takes you through some of the finer points of management - it's about building your own team, gaining reputation and hiring staff into that team. The game also supports up to twenty players in online multiplayer – a number that the creators claims is a first for racing games. With two seasons and all those features to go at, there's plenty on offer for bike fans in MotoGP 09/10. |

Call of Juarez (Xbox 360) $9.99 Inspired by classic Western movies such as Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More - films which made Clint Eastwood a household name - Call of Juarez is a First-Person Shooter that first appeared on PC in 2006. Gamers have the choice to play as one of two very different characters - Billy, a young Native American on the run for murder, or Reverend Ray, the outlaw-cum-vigilante who is hunting him down. Ray was and still is a very dangerous man. He's turned to religion in recent years in the belief that God himself has chosen him to clean up the Wild West. There are certain factors to take into consideration when deciding which character to choose, and your choice will have a drastic effect on the gameplay. While Billy is comfortable using firearms, he prefers to use his trusty whip to hit, knock out or disarm foes. He can also use this weapon to grab objects that are out of reach and climb surfaces. Billy's agility with or without whip will also help gamers get out of dangerous situations. Controlling old Reverend Ray will feel like second nature to First Person Shooter fans - think Gun, Doom and Black etc. Don't let his age fool you, Reverend Ray is a deadly shot with both pistol and rifle. He is also immensely strong, able to break down doors with his bare hands, and carry unbelievably heavy objects. Never afraid to quote the Bible even in battle, he is an accomplished horseback rider as well as being extremely quick on foot. Reverend Ray is certainly someone you would rather have on your side than against you. Call of Juarez incorporates a classic shooting system as well as two extra game modes. There is a special game mode based on an element which all classic Westerns had in their storyline - duels, of course. When gamers draw their gun in the face of an adversary, they will trigger slow-mo 'Bullet Time'. This means that when the action slows down, shooting several times at an opponent is possible. Another duelling mode is for shooting from distance, something which gamers will find can improve their aim drastically when shooting. Graphically, the game is something of a looker, and offers gamers a cinematic experience, which again nods to the classic Western genre. The game also allows you to set fire to things, which is always good for a laugh (as long as you don't apply it to real life). Fire and smoke is a smart deterrent to enemy characters who may be on your tail, and the likes of an oil lamp is easily employed as a means of ignition if you so wish. Throw it, knock it over, shoot at the spilling fuel, and bingo! It's time for a good old fashioned burnin'! As well as the single player option, there is also a multiplayer mode for up to 16 players, which allows all connected via Live or System Link to put their own slant on the game by going up against varmints from around the world. Gunfights in the middle of town, robbing banks or trains - the choice is entirely yours. |

Sonic Generations (Xbox 360) $17.99 Sonic the Hedgehog has been running for 20 years. Surely he’s getting a bit tired now? Not at all, says SEGA - and this anniversary game is a true celebration of all the adventures the blue blur has been on in the last two decades. What’s more, both Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic are on hand to tackle these past stages, across three distinct eras of franchise gameplay. That’s right, our athletic up-to-date hero meets with his retro, dumpy (and silent!) counterpart for the very first time. Some kind of time paradox merges their worlds together, and the finger is immediately pointed to series villain Dr. Eggman. But, while the ‘good’ doc is relishing in the chaos, he’s not actually behind the chronological meddling - some dark shadowy creature is the real culprit, and the blue duo have to work together and fix things. Playing as Classic Sonic offers silky smooth controls and a satisfying level design that works with a dynamic camera to give the feeling that you’re not just navigating a 2D space - truly representing classic Mega Drive play as you remember it. As Modern Sonic, you’ll be darting through re-interpretations of past stages in 3D at an exhilarating pace. Seeing these retro stages from the perspective of a totally new hedgehog will give you a true blast from the past! IGN rating: 8.5/10 |
