The basis of the game surrounds the tension between Russia, US, and the European Federation. As oil prices skyrocket, oil is not as available as it once was, and as the US works on a formidable new weapon, they threaten to shake the balance of power in their favor, thereby upsetting the other governments. Thus, the European nations combine to create the European Federation in response to all of the growing conflicts happening outside of their control, and they withdraw from NATO, too, all these factors assuring that war is very close on the horizon.
One of the aspects of the game is you get to choose which side you play on. You can take the story line and tensions into account and then decide if you want to be on the European Enforcer Corp, a group that masters in electronic warfare and energy weapons as well as having the sleekest and fastest battlefield vehicles. This group is mostly made up of counter terrorist forces as well as forces intended to keep peace throughout Europe.
