End Of Line TVs - Deals Of The Season
Many television manufacturers start to release new models about the same time many car manufacturers do, the late summer and early fall. Taking advantage of a retailer's need to clear inventory for fresh stock is a consumer's opportunity. The best chance of getting the right deal no matter whether is it shoes, electronics, a car or even a bottle of pop, is knowledge; without knowledge the purchaser is at the mercy of the sales person on the floor. End of line TVs are not damaged goods, often they have similar if not identical features to the new ones on the way.
Do homework, learn what new models are being released, and understand what the features of these new models are and how it might affect price on existing models already in inventory at a retail outlet. Once there is a general understanding of the new features of soon to be released televisions start comparing. Compare everything; the newest technology is not always the best. More often than not the latest and greatest technology must go through 2 or even 3 generations before stabile in the end user market. Tried and true might be a budget saving bonus when making electronics purchases.
Once the features, benefits and technologies of the new releases are comprehended and the comparison of current TV models is complete. Ask questions. Is the whosey mawatchit really better than the whosey mawitchit? Many times, but not always so, a manufacturer's so-called new and improved technology is really the same tried and true technology repackaged for consumer consumption. Purchasing a television, whether end of model or improved technology is a matter of features and benefits vs. function and cost. Do the little tykes really need picture in picture? Would a 51cm screen work as well as a 65 cm screen? Is a flat panel display going to save enough space to justify the increased cost?
The above questions along with price are important factors in locating the right deal and more importantly determining is if an end of model unit is right for you. Make a little spreadsheet, take just a few moments and create a personalized question and answer session. Determining a purchase of several hundred £s is not something to do on a whim in today's economy. Evaluate the plusses and minuses of each feature, using a point system or even use something as simple as a smiley or sad face to assign value, review each unit's feature and benefits.
Finding the deal of the year can be reasonably simple, now that the choice for an end of model unit is made, watch the advertisements in the post. It isn't just enough to find the right price, check any possible quantity limitations or special sale conditions. Armed with the knowledge of features and desired benefits, impulse buying is eliminated, and the choices of various end of line TVs is now just a matter of will it fit in the boot.
