What should I get?(xbox 360,ps3,or a new pc?)?

So I';ve been on the stumped gamer forums lately and people are telling me i should get a pc .But I'm still not sure. Here's the deal,I got 700$ right now to spend on something for games and shiit. should I get,an xbox 360(300$ with about 15 games),ps3(400$ with about 6 games), or pc(650$, 2 games)?

I want a new pc for internet and the like, and i could always just upgrade it.

And by the way

the pc im looking at-

2.3ghz proc,
2 gb of ram
400gb hard drive
6600 vid card(i could swap in a 8500 for 60$ or 8800gts for 170$)

as for ps3,ps3 80gb version
for pc its a dual core
theres a lot of good games out for pc...have you ever heard of FEAR? the pc version kicks the crap outta the console version

and have you heard of postal ,postal 2,crysis,sins of solar empire, unreal tournament 3(pc version),man there's a shit lod of pc games with better graphics than consoles get your facts strait homie!

The PC you are talking about building is substantially weaker than either the 360 or the PS3. To play any of the great games (and there are a TON of great games on the PC- not to mention all of the good 360 games are usually ported to the PC, and microsoft is really focusing on integrating online play between pc games for windows live and xbox live), you have about the minimum requirements.

Honestly, you need to use crysis as you benchmark, and doing so, a decent gaming PC needs the following:

2.3 Dual core should be okay (although, 2.3 quad core would be better...)
4-8gb DDR3
400GB is more than plenty
2X Geforce 8800gt or better
750 W power supply (really critical if you are running two SLI graphics cards)

I would look for a PC with an SLI compatible chipset (nvidia 560i is a good place to start), and one that has at least 2x PCI express 2.0 slots.

If it isn't possible for you to build that PC, I would recommend a console, and here is my breakdown of the PS3 and XBOX360:

own both a 360 and a ps3, but consider myself a "nintendo fanboy" I will attempt to provide you an honest, unbiased, answer (btw the categories are in a random order):

Hardware:
The main reason to own a PS3 right now is Blu ray; blu ray won the format war and as HD saturation is gradually increasing (33% right now) blu ray will become more relevant. However, blu ray alone is not reason to own a ps3, even at 1080p the resolution difference between an upconverted dvd just isn't as noticeable as going from vhs to dvd was. Additionally, the ps3 will be able to fit more games onto 1 disc than the 360, but I don't know anyone that is so lazy they can't get up for 1 minute to swap out disc after 12 hours of gameplay.

Also, the PS3 is just a lot more powerful than the 360. In the future, we are going to see the ps3 get games that the 360 might not be able to run (or if it can run them, not at the same level, see far cry 2). Gears 2 is about as good as the 360 is going to get, but the ps3 has a lot of bit left in it. However, graphics don't matter if gameplay sucks, so it is really up to the sony to get out some quality exclusives.

Advantage: PS3

Third party games:
Unfortunately, as sony's ceo stated today the "PS3 was on life support but is slowly picking up," this means all the good third party games are being developed for the 360 first and ported to the PS3 (instead of the other way around, which would make A LOT more sense). This means that games end up looking better on the 360, which has weaker hardware. The reason for this is companies like EA know that most of their profits are coming from 360 games (the 360 has sold 20 million+ where as the ps3 is just above 10 million), so they develop on the 360 first, which is less sophisticated than the ps3, and end up under-cutting the ps3s awesome potential. However, a counter point to this would be Japanese games. Japan makes some awesome games, and because the ps3 is the console to own, any game made in Japan is going to be developed on the PS3 first and look incredible.

Advantage: 360

Exclusives:
Additionally, the XBOX has better exclusives right now (Gears of war series, Halo series, Mass effect, Bio shock- which will get ported to ps3), but sony has some cool things coming. I would say that as far as exclusives go, you are buying at the right time, there are going to be a lot of great exclusives available for the PS3 soon, enough to justify owning the system.

Advantage: Even

Online Play:
I don't feel like I need to spend much time talking about this because no one, not even sony, can say that the PSN holds a candle to Xbox live. Sure, the PSN is getting "home" and it is free, but microsoft developed the 360 with online gameplay at the forefront and it shows. Any hardcore gamer realizes that $50 a year for a gold account is well worth it, and would probably be willing to pay twice that amount. Eventually sony may figure out a way to catch up to Microsoft, but sony just got started too late, microsoft created xbox live way back in the old school xbox days and has had years to tweak and perfect the system.

Advantage: Xbox

Random other crap you don't think about:

-The ps3 controllers are rechargeable right out of the box (xbox you have to buy rechargeable batteries); however because you can't remove the battery on your ps3 when it runs out of juice you have to either stop playing or switch controllers; with the xbox you can just pop in some fresh batteries while your others are charging.
Advantage: PS3

-The 360 does not come with wifi right out of the box, that is going to be an extra $80

Advantage: PS3

-The xbox has some sweet noise canceling wireless headphones, the ps3 does not

Advantage: Xbox

Conclusion:

Personally, if all the hardware in the world doesn't matter if the games aren't there, and right now they aren't on the PS3. Sure MGS4 is about to come out, but like MGS3 we will probably end up seeing a port to the 360. I play my xbox about 90% of the time and my ps3 about 10%, because the games are great and xbox live is so much better than psn.

However, the ps3 holds a lot more potential for the future. Stars might align properly for sony (already won with blu ray), and the ps3 may end up blowing the xbox out of the water.

The decision here is a lot like buying stocks, are you a high risk/high reward or a play it safe type guy? If you are willing to risk it, the ps3 may pay off greatly in the end, but then again it may end up flopping. However, the 360 has enough games out now, and enough features available now, to justify getting one and knowing that although things won't get much better graphically, it will be a safe bet for the next 3-5 years.
