Logitech G25 - What's in a Steering Wheel?
General
This Logitech G25 is a steering-wheel developed for sim racing games on both Playstation 2 and 3 and PC It seems that Logitech has just totally build this wheel from scratch, it includes a 900 degrees wheel with improved Force Feedback effects, an high-end workmanship and a 3-pedal set and a loose 6 speed H-shifter pattern gearbox. The wheel got developed by Logitech and was released on 13 December 2007 as successor of the Logitech Driving Force Pro and the Logitech Momo. The successor of this Logitech G25 itself, is the Logitech G27, which got released in 2010.
This wheel is considered as a wheel of a higher class, across from other wheels, it has a 3-pedal set and a loose 6 speed H-shifter pattern and a better finish. We'll see immediate a difference between the cheaper, plastic feeling steering-wheels and this piece of marksmanship The price at this moment varies from EUR 200 to 300 and USD 199.99 to 299.99. Logitech aims at the real racing simracing freak who love to have a solid steering-wheel without buying a professional one, which costs easily EUR 999.99 or USD 799.99.
The Mounting of the steering-wheel equals most of the steering-wheels, there are 2 gripes with knobs that has to be tightened upon the desk. An extra feature, that comes in welcome for the serious driving, is the option to attach it to a raceframe with screws.
Steering-wheel
The wheel itself includes some nice features and looks good, it's bigger than most with his diameter of 270 mm and got the Logitech logo on. With the larger size and leather wrapped steering-wheel, it resembles more to a real wheel. The range of the wheel is up to 900 degrees, a full 2.5 turns lock-to-lock. The steering wheel itself is quite basic with only 2 paddle shifters mounted on the back of it and further, 2 buttons at the front of the wheel.
Force Feedback
The simulation part get done by 2 Force Feedback motors, who simulate the real driving experience The force feedback of this wheel is quite excellent. Contrary to its processors, the driving force effects are more refined and the effects of the Force Feedback is more fluent. The motors are silent and there's hardly a noise when steering.
Pedal set
