PSP2 Vs 3DS - Which Will Be Better?
Sony and Nintendo are both brining out new hand held devices very soon, both of which claim to have just about as much power as some current generation consoles. But which one will come out on top in this hand held gaming device war? Lets take an indepth look at both of them!
Sony PSP2
While the original PSP was loved by many, it didn't fare quite as well as Nintendos DS in terms of profit and market share. It was however, absolutley loved by gamers, epecially hackers and modifiers who were able to make it perform all sorts of custom abilities. How will Sonys new hand held compare to it's old one or the 3DS?
The PSP2 boats 3G /WiFi/Built in GPS connections, a quad core CPU, rear touch pad, two cameras on the front and back as well as Sonys own OLED (Organic Light Emmiting Diode) touch screen. The hand held device will also take a page out of the PS3s book and use Sixaxis motion sensing, though not many developers have used it well on the PS3.
Like the PSP Go, the PSP2 won't be supporting UMD, which happened to be a huge downfall for the Go system, time will tell how the PSP2 will hold up. Though Sony claim that the PSP2 can emulate PSP games all of which will be able to be downloaded on Sonys Playstation Network.
Sony have also provided something that gamers have been screaming for for a very long time, Duel analog sticks! The PSP2 is really going to feel like a Playstation controller with a screen attatched to it, a definate plus.
Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo have been the king when it comes to handheld devices for decades now. They really do know what they're doing when it comes hand held gaming. That, plus their strong line up of games really helps to keep old hardcore gamers, as well as new ones, coming to Nintendo.
But is 3D really the way of the future? Even Sony is inveting time and money into 3D (PS3 gaming and Bluray) but Nintendos ace up it's sleeve is that it claims the 3DS won't need 3D glases to be able to get the full experience. Coupled with the hand held devices ability to take 3D photos makes it a pretty impressive piece of technology. But what will developers do with it? That's the main thing. If developers are unable to do anything inovative with the 3D then Nintendo have only just released a new, more beefy DS.
Though things haven't been all peachy with rumors spreading across the internet that The 3DS will only have a battery life of 5-8 hours. Nintendo claims that this can be improved by turning the amount of 3D depth down, but then aren't you just left with a normal DS?...
The 3DS is backwards compatible and will be launching in blue and black at $249.
