2 questions about the Sales of Goods Act (UK)?
I plan on claiming for my PlayStation 3, as it has stopped reading discs. I purchased the console late 2007 so the one year warranty on it has expired. However, i live in Bedford and the chain i bought it from was in Brighton. So my questions are:
1) Do i have to send the letter to the Brighton chain or can i just send it to my local one? Or does it go to the head office?
2) Am i responsible for the delivery of the product or will they pick it up and bring it back?

An article offered for sale must be fit for purpose. Even if it has gone beyond the warranty period sometimes you have a legitimate claim. In this case because the period we are talking about is 3 years from purchase, I am regret that the company has no obligation to you. There are many reasons for saying that , but you must accept that some people can put 6 years of play into 3 years, so it is unreasonable to expect the company to do much for you. Always remember this, you bought the goods from the store, not Play Station. The store is the place that have the responsibility for getting it replaced. In the case of a Play Station, it would not be considered their obligation to pick it up from your house. You obviously have a computer, so why not Google the "The sale of goods act 1979" and the " The sale and Supply of goods to the Consumers regulation 2002". Both will tell you what your rights are and what the sellers obligations are.
