F.E.A.R. Files (Xbox 360) $8.95 Fear just got bigger. Well, F.E.A.R., the first person shooter from Vivendi just got bigger, anyway. Making an emotion bigger would no doubt prove difficult. F.E.A.R. Files combines the all-new Perseus Mandate - a stand alone expansion on Vivendi's first foray into the world of F.E.A.R. - with its predecessor, Extraction Point, picking up where the first game left off. The game features a new team of First Encounter Assault Recon (F.E.A.R.) agents and runs parallel to the original. In a story intertwined with the events of Armacham, players will take on new enemies as they duel with the supernatural. This latest expansion - a complete game which can be played without the original F.E.A.R. - features all new weapons including the chain-lightning gun, a new machine gun with a scope that can magnify light, and a grenade launcher. You'll also need to face off against a new enemy type called the Nightcrawler. These nasty little specimens are fast, accurate and have a murderous penchant for throwing a couple of grenades at once as they vault off walls. Where Perseus Mandate tells a story that runs parallel to the events of the first game, Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended. The original F.E.A.R. team is back to battle the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a desolate city. There is a wealth of new locations, high-powered weapons and enemies that all combine to take the F.E.A.R. series to new heights. If you need another dose of F.E.A.R, Vivendi is giving you its best shot. |

F.E.A.R. (Xbox 360) $10.95 F.E.A.R. sets out its stall as belonging to the survival horror genre, in a first-person style. The title refers not to the emotion itself though, it merely alludes to it, and F.E.A.R. is the name of the elite squad of which you are a member. It stands for First Encounter Assault Reconnaissance. Clever, eh? The premise goes like this: an unknown paramilitary organisation captures an aerospace compound and takes hostages. Unlike most paramilitary groups, however, it issues no demands whatsoever. When a special forces squad is sent in to put the cheeky terrorists to the sword, however, they are all torn apart by an invisible force that attacks without warning. It is for this reason that the special F.E.A.R. team is put together. Gameplay is your usual mix of high production value FPS gameplay (sparks and smoke everywhere, sophisticated AI), with the title's horrific twists. From the outset you'll learn to expect the unexpected, and there's no hiding from the fact that you're up against a paranormal terror of some sort. Successful FPS games are all about incorporating cool stuff and there's plenty of that. You can execute any number of martial arts moves, with karate chops, jumps and scissor kicks all in your repertoire. You have access to some pretty exciting ordnance too, with handheld cannons and guns that evaporate people in your armoury. You also get a Max Payne-style slow motion ability that makes all your enemies calm down a bit so you can take your time taking them out. The Xbox 360 version of F.E.A.R. contains new levels, stunning visual effects for an intense action movie experience and unpredictable encounters with combat adaptable A.I. There will be an all-new Instant Action Mode, which is an arcade-style action filled with close quarters battles that track player progress via Xbox Live leader boards. Frenetic multiplayer support for up to 16 players is also featured. |

Experience enhanced destruction and frightening combat an inch from your face in one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year. The game starts off shortly before the ending of the original F.E.A.R. with a Special Forces squad on a routine mission, when the city of Auburn is rocked by a supernatural explosion. Tension builds as the squad must combat enemy forces and the supernatural as they struggle to find a way to stop Alma and uncover the mysterious forces arrayed against them before it’s too late. |

Condemned (Xbox 360) $8.95 Monolith Productions is garnering some highly enthusiastic attention at the moment. The team behind the warmly received No One Lives Forever has been in the press again recently following the release of the psychological shock shooter F.E.A.R. And the release of the Xbox 360 was just the excuse for a console foray after years of specialising in the PC end of the gaming scene. Teaming up with SEGA’s American arm they bring you Condemned: Criminal Origins. Continuing the developer’s current penchant for the darker side of things, Condemned puts you in the well-polished brogues of FBI Agent Thomas, whose chosen field is the study, pursuit and capture of serial killers. Track these death-worshipping humans like the animals they are through their preferred habitat – mazes of broken windows, crumbling brickwork and dilapidated tenements. Your long-developed skills as a detective and a range of precision forensic tools will help you, but you’ll have to rely just as much on split second reactions and brawling skills if you are to get out of your mission in one piece. Monolith made its name showing what could be done on games running through Windows, at a time when nobody believed in a DOS-less future for PC gaming. This technical expertise is brought to bear on the latest Microsoft confection, the 360, with lighting, texture mapping and filtering techniques employed that are like nothing you’ll have seen this generation. The first person viewpoint that Monolith favours is used, but this is still an adventure game where you execute melee moves on your quarries, as well as pick up and throw a variety of inanimate objects. Full compatibility with 5:1 surround sound will allow you to take advantage of your home movie set-up, and sophisticated and reactive enemy AI completes the package, making Condemned a suitable tech fest for a debut on such an able machine. You also get, as is the vogue these days, an involving plot with twists a plenty to keep you interested. If your new Xbox 360 has just joined an already impressive array of high-end entertainment technology in your front room, here’s just the thing to put your new setup through its paces. |

Tricks On How To Play Burned Xbox 360 Games
Most gamers simply want to enjoy playing their games. Becoming a computer scientist isn't necessarily something that they feel compelled to do simply to better understand how the games are made. The fact that they play well and provide hours of entertainment is usually enough. Having said that, however, if you are thinking about burning backup copies of your Xbox 360 games for protection, you should have at least a modicum of understanding about how the games are put together and how to play burned Xbox 360 games.
Xbox 360 games, and many others for that matter, are burned in a special manner, which is referred to a dual layer. This dual layer technology is the primary reason why it is difficult to learn how to burn Xbox 360 games and play them. Dual layer DVDs have two layers to record data on. Microsoft began using the two layer technology for recording their games. One layer, called the ISO file holds all of the data required to define the game. It is the game's program. The DVD file, on the other hand, is a set of instructions telling the DVD burner how to copy the ISO data correctly onto the DVD disc. Are you with me so far?
In order for you to make a clean playable copy of the game disc, you need to have both of these files, which can be taken from your original game disc or downloaded from the web. (The downloading option is illegal, so don't do it.)
Once you have access to these two files, learning how to burn and play Xbox 360 games is straightforward. You need to open the DVD file and make a copy of the "Layer Break" number for that file. This number is critical because it instructs your computer as to where to stop recording the DVDs first layer, and to begin recording the second one. Copying the number is easy. Simply use the Ctrl-C trick.
After you've done that, you should download a program called imgBurn. This is an excellent DVD copying utility. Once you have installed the imgBurn software, run it and open the SETTINGS tab and locate the LAYER BREAK section. Paste the number that you copied above, where indicated. Now the software knows where the layers separate.
When that's done, you're almost there. Select imgBurn's BURN FROM IMAGE option, and then select ISOfile to burn it to the DVD disc. This burning process usually takes about three-quarters of an hour, depending upon the complexity of the game being burned. When the process is over, you will have a new game backup that can be played on your Xbox 360 system, just a though it were the original disc. You've now protected your original game, and can play the game endlessly without fear of damaging it.
This simple way of burning games is perfectly legal when used to make backup copies of your games to protect your investment. Just don't get cocky and start making free copies for your friends, or trying to get rich selling them. That, my friend, is illegal and could get you some time in the penitentiary. Not really a good idea. Now that you know how to play burned Xbox 360 games, enjoy them without worrying about damaging them. You're protected.
As for imgBurn, I recommend Game Copy wizard to you, Please read the Game Copy wizard Review for more...
